Social Work
Meeting people in real life, with real support
A Master of Social Work with a clinical and trauma focus — grounded in evidence-based practice, the dignity of every person, and the belief that care begins with listening.
Where I’ve worked
At Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services I conducted psychosocial assessments and built person-centered care plans for older adults and families — including Bengali- and Gujarati-speaking communities — and provided crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and benefits navigation (MassHealth and beyond). I co-facilitated Savvy Caregiver groups for families caring for loved ones with dementia, alongside a licensed clinician.
At the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, I supported mindfulness-based programs (MBCT, MBSR, and Mindfulness Therapy for Primary Care) and completed an intensive teacher training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
How I practice
My work is warm, collaborative, and practical, and it draws on a toolkit I tailor to each person rather than a one-size-fits-all model. It always stays culturally responsive and trauma-informed.
